Waste-to-energy or energy-from-waste is the process of generating energy in the form of electricity and/or heat from the primary treatment of waste, or the processing of waste into a fuel source. WtE is a form of energy recovery.
The significant growth of using waste materials as a fuel source has transformed the way waste is viewed, it now has a value rather than a cost of disposal.
Vulcan Refractories have supplied materials into this market for over 20 years, Vulcasil S75N is recognised in the industry for is superior performance. Recently developed Zerox is an ultra-low oxidation resistant silicon nitride bonded silicon carbide for areas where superior oxidation resistance is critical. For areas where reduced heat flow is required Vulcan supply alumina and reduced silicon carbide content materials in both tiles and grate shapes.
