The management of Vulcan Refractories Ltd. is committed to ensuring that, as an organisation we are environmentally conscious, and that the business acknowledges the impact that our operations may potentially have on the environment.
Our environmental aims and objectives are in accordance with ISO14001:2015.
Vulcan Refractories Ltd fully commits to the Protection of the Environment and Pollution Prevention
In carrying out the above, the company aims to ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment for all stakeholders and members of the public at all times.
- Wholly support and comply with or exceed the requirements of current environmental legislation and codes of practice.
- Ensuring that all waste materials are disposed of in compliance with the regulations, minimise waste, reuse and recycle where possible
- As far as reasonably practicable, purchase products and services that do the least damage to the environment and encourage others to do the same
- Ensure all individuals are aware of their environmental responsibility and are trained accordingly
- Minimising the risk of environmental impact from every operation we undertake or any new processes/ products we intend to introduce in advance
- Address complaints about any breach of our Environmental Policy promptly and to the satisfaction of all concerned
- Update our Environmental Policy annually in consultation with staff, stakeholders, and customers
- Make efficient use of energy and other resources
- Work towards achieving and maintaining a high level of housekeeping on site both customers and Vulcan premises.
Management, Supervisory staff, and employees have responsibilities for the implementation of the policy and must ensure that environmental issues are given adequate consideration in the planning and day-to-day supervision of all work. All employees are expected to co-operate and assist in the implementation of this policy, whilst ensuring that their own work, so far as reasonably practicable, is carried out without risk themselves, others, or the environment. This includes co-operating with management on any environment related matters.
